Privacy Policy

Overview

2TONEU ("2TONEU," "we," "us," "our") is currently operated by its founder as an individual, based in Victoria, Australia. This policy covers the 2TONEU website, web app, and any version you install as a Progressive Web App (together, the "Service"). We built 2TONEU to run on as little personal data as possible: there's no ad tracking, no analytics scripts, and no data sold to third parties. This policy sets out exactly what we do collect and why.

Information we collect

We collect information in two ways: what you give us directly, and what the Service generates as you use it.

Information you give us

• Your email address and password, when you create an account (your password is handled by our authentication provider and is never visible to us in plain text);
• Your username, which is public by design;
• Any messages you send us directly, such as a support or legal request by email.

Information the Service generates

• Your daily task completions, points, current and longest streak, badges, marks, and leaderboard rank;
• Your friend connections with other 2TONEU users;
• Basic account and moderation records, such as whether an account has been blocked or suspended, and why.

We don't ask for or store payment details, government ID, precise location, or health data, and we don't run analytics or advertising trackers on the Service.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Create and secure your account, and let you sign in;
• Run the core features of the Service, including tracking tasks, points, streaks, badges, leaderboards, and friends;
• Communicate with you about your account, such as password resets or important changes to the Service;
• Enforce these policies and our Terms of Service, including reviewing reports of abuse and applying blocks or suspensions;
• Keep the Service secure and working as intended.

We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't build profiles of you for any purpose beyond running 2TONEU itself.

What we share, and with whom

We don't sell your information. We share it only in these situations:

• Public by design: your username, points, streak, longest streak, badges/marks, and leaderboard rank are visible to other people using the Service. Your email address and password are never shown to other users.
• Service providers: we use Supabase for authentication and database hosting, and a hosting provider to serve the website and app. These providers process data on our behalf, under their own security commitments, and don't use it for their own purposes.
• Legal reasons: if we're required to by law, or if it's reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of 2TONEU, our users, or the public.

We link to community spaces we don't operate, including Discord, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. Anything you share on those platforms is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

Where your information is stored

Your information is stored on infrastructure operated by our service providers, which may be located outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information continues to receive a comparable standard of protection, consistent with the Australian Privacy Act.

How we protect your information

We rely on industry-standard security practices provided by our infrastructure providers, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your information as safe as reasonably possible and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

How long we keep your information

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you return or in case we need it to resolve a dispute, enforce our Terms, or comply with a legal obligation. When we delete an account, associated data such as tasks, points, streaks, and friend connections is permanently removed from our active systems.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. In particular:

• Access and correction: most of your information (username, tasks, points) can already be viewed in the app; for anything else, email us and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
• Deletion: 2TONEU doesn't currently have a self-service "delete my account" button in the app. To delete your account and the personal data tied to it, email us at the address in Contact us from the email address on your account, and we'll process the deletion. This also means we can verify it's really you asking, before permanently removing your data.

If you're not satisfied with how we've handled a privacy request, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Cookies and similar technology

2TONEU uses only the strictly necessary local storage needed to keep you signed in and remember basic app preferences. We don't use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or analytics scripts to follow you across the web.

Third-party links

The Service links to third-party platforms we don't control, including Discord, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. This policy doesn't cover those platforms; please review their own privacy policies before using them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the Service changes. We'll update the "last updated" date above whenever we do, and if a change is significant, we'll make reasonable efforts to let signed-in users know. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
